Library Preview
The library is a place for study, providing book and non-book information materials, which supplement research. Major user services provided include: book loans, reference, orientation, user services, current awareness, selective dissemination services, photocopying, newspaper clipping services and user advisory services.
Major library clientele served are researchers, graduate students, lecturers, policy makers and business people. Users of the library contribute to its satisfactory operation by observing the regulations, which govern its use with particular regard to borrowing books in the legitimate way. The rules are meant to ensure equal access to all library resources and facilities.
Services
The library is largely open access and is therefore fully open to researchers and registered affiliates. Users may browse the shelves or the book catalogues, to access needed information from journals, monographs, pamphlets and gray literature. However, certain categories of materials may not be borrowed, mainly because of their value, or rarity, or the great use made of them. Working spaces in the library and a separate study room are available. Library staff is on hand to assist and advise users and visitors alike.
Library Membership
CBR researchers have automatic membership to the library. Other categories of users gain membership through affiliation.
Library Affiliation
Affiliation to CBR can be both by Individuals and Institutions. Both categories would be entitled to unlimited access to library documents within the library, receive the Annual Report of CBR free of charge, and 50% discount on purchase of CBR Occasional Papers and Workshop Reports. Affiliates would also be entitled to participate in CBR's public lectures and Seminars, and may, in consultation with the Executive Director, make presentations to the CBR research community. .
Affiliation does not automatically entitle any individual or institution to use research facilities of the Centre.
